Good food, safe and fresh, is a basic ingredient of happiness and health. It is our right to know how, where and by whom our food is grown, harvested, handled and processed.
"An overwhelming 90 percent of Americans' household food budget is spent on processed and packaged convenience foods, the majority of which are filled with additives and stripped of nutrients."
~ Whole Foods Diet Cookbook, 200 Recipes for Optimal Health by Ivy Ingram Larson & Andrew Larson, MD
Over the past ten years, organic, locally produced and specialty foods have experienced an amazing period of development and growth making fresher, healthier foods more available to urban consumers. However, the existing food distribution system is far too broad based to adapt for small producers and this greatly increases the cost of product.
We need an entirely new business model that handles food from the farm to the fork, a safe, reliable system for the gathering, marketing, processing and distribution of locally produced, sustainable food products: Certified Good Food.
The New Public Market’s goal is to make fresh, healthy, sustainably produced food availability to the people of Fort Worth. Come join us at our Market Days held the first Saturday of each month.
